From Coconut Shells to Cleaner Horizons: Haycarb Philippine Power Move

COURTESY: Haycarb

A Strategic Step Forward

Haycarb Expands its Global Activated Carbon Production with a Strategic Move to the Philippines, opening a new chapter in sustainable manufacturing. The company will build its seventh manufacturing plant inside the PHIVIDEC Industrial Zone in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental.
Because the region produces nearly 13% of the Philippines’ coconuts, Haycarb can access renewable coconut shells efficiently. Moreover, the BOI-certified project strengthens supply chains while supporting responsible sourcing and eco-friendly purification solutions.

Built for Growth and Sustainability

Covering 10 hectares, the facility will initially produce 6,000 metric tons annually. Planned commissioning on April 1, 2027, will expand Haycarb’s regional capacity and improve access to East Asia, Australia, and Pacific markets.

Meanwhile, the project will create local employment and encourage sustainable economic growth. By manufacturing closer to customers, Haycarb can respond faster while strengthening its position as a sustainable activated carbon supplier and supplier of activated charcoal in Philippines.

Ultimately, coconut shell-based activated carbon offers a renewable alternative to coal and wood-based products. With strong logistics, port access, and circular manufacturing potential, the Philippines facility supports Haycarb’s vision for cleaner, greener purification technology and a more resilient global supply network.
