Hey Cogon crew, big news just dropped! Workers kicked off construction today, June 23, right in the heart of Cagayan de Oro’s bustling market. CEEBDA leaders made the announcement with energy, but they also asked locals for some extra patience amid the coming changes.

Moreover, General Manager Atty. Marriane G. Ragas delivered a heartfelt plea. She urged vendors, shoppers, and drivers to forgive the heavier traffic snarls, especially at Yacapin and Osmeña Streets. “I ask for your understanding and forgiveness,” Ragas said warmly.

Ragas explained why this Japanese-donated project matters so much. It actively treats wastewater before it hits streams and oceans, slashing waterborne diseases. Plus, it helps the city obey the Department of Natural Resources’ Clean Water Act push.

Leaders Step Up for Northern Mindanao’s Sports Revival

Governor Juliette Uy, Congressman Rufus Rodriguez, and Ms. Shiela Lumbatan, representing Mayor Klarex Uy, joined forces last week and dropped a game-changing ₱300 million commitment. They aim to transform the aging venue into a top-tier hub ready for national events like Palarong Pambansa.

Moreover, the provincial government kicks in ₱100 million for new tennis and pickleball courts plus an Olympic-size pool upgrade.

Kaugnay nito, nagtulungan ang DPWH Bukidnon 2nd at 4th DEOs sa pagsasaayos at dredging sa Old Impounding Basin sa Taganibong Creek sa Maramag, Bukidnon. Meanwhile, relentless crews in Iligan keep the river flowing freely.

Local Pride Explodes in the Council Chamber

Four Kagay-anons who recently graduated from the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) stole the spotlight when they stood proudly before the 21st City Council. Everyone cheered as these young heroes received massive recognition. Moreover, the council approved Resolution No. 15765-2026 on May 25, congratulating and commending them for bringing huge honor to the city.  

The honorees—Second Lieutenants Lawrence Cabahit, Pauline Jhun Amper, Mel Evan Caniedo, and Kent Michael Yaba—graduated on May 16, 2026, as part of the PMA 'Talang Dangal' Class. They crushed four tough years of training and now shine bright for their hometown.  

Next Chapter: Army Boots and Navy Waves

These graduates now step into real action. Second Lieutenants Amper, Cabahit, and Caniedo head straight to the Philippine Army, while Yaba joins the Philippine Navy. They represent the best of Cagayan de Oro as they begin serving the nation with courage.  

The City Council started this resolution to celebrate their success and inspire more young Kagay-anons to chase big dreams. What an awesome moment for the city!
