A Celebration of Triumph and Unity

The air in Misamis Oriental was filled with excitement and pride during a remarkable event that took place on *Martes, Nobyembre 11, 2025*. **GITUNOL ni Gov. Juliette Uy ang PHP 248,000 cash incentives ug plaques of recognition ngadto sa 19 ka players ug 6 ka coaches**—a grand gesture honoring athletes who brought glory to the province. This heartfelt ceremony happened after they returned home with 23 shining medals from the *Batang Pinoy National Championships 2025* in General Santos City.
The competition was a beautiful showcase of talents in **Chess, Arnis, Athletics, Karate, Judo, and Lawn Tennis**. Gov. Uy’s eyes lit up as she personally greeted the athletes who proudly carried the name of the province to another stage of excellence. The sense of unity was palpable, and every handshake and smile was a testament to the shared journey toward victory.
Stories That Inspire the Future

From the municipalities of Initao, Villanueva, Lagonglong, Balingasag, Laguindingan, Balingoan, Opol, Tagoloan, and Jasaan came the medalists and winning coaches. Chess Coach **Dhomreylotter Querequere** expressed heartfelt gratitude for the privilege of representing the province. He proudly acknowledged that strong support from the provincial government helped the team endure every challenge along the way. From the moment they joined the competition until they safely returned, the athletes carried with them memories of determination and resilience—fueling their excitement for future tournaments.
Among the bright stars was 12-year-old **Miykael Jerahmiel Lapad**, a gold medalist in Chess, who dreams of inspiring other young Misamisnons. Behind his victories is the tireless effort of his parents, ensuring he was trained well without neglecting his education. Miykael promised to give his best moves not only on the chessboard but also through his dedication to the sport.
Building a Legacy for the Youth

Present during the awarding were **Provincial Sports Coordinator Rosuetta Colastre** and **Provincial Sports Development Office Overseer William Encabo**, along with faculty members and family supporters. The event reinforced Gov. Juliette Uy’s priority—to provide youth with the essential support needed to develop their full potential. Beyond medals and recognition, it was about investing in their future, ensuring not only peak physical performance but also excellent mental health.

This celebration was more than just an awarding—it was a promise. A promise that Misamis Oriental will continue to nurture talent, celebrate dedication, and inspire young dreamers to reach for the stars.
