Hey there, fellow travelers! If you’ve ever flown into or out of Laguindingan International Airport (LIA) in Misamis Oriental, you’re in for a treat. Aboitiz InfraCapital, Inc. (AIC) just rolled out some fantastic upgrades to the airport’s runway surfaces, and trust me, this is big news for all of us who love to travel!

So, what’s the scoop? Well, AIC has been busy making sure our flying experience is smoother and safer. They’ve been repainting runways, taking care of cracks, and even removing rubber buildup. All this work means that LIA, which ranks as the seventh-busiest airport in the Philippines, is not just looking good but is also ready to handle more flights and passengers in the future. Rafael M. Aboitiz, the VP of AIC, emphasizes the importance of keeping our airport in top shape. And let’s face it, who doesn’t want a reliable runway when catching a flight?

Now, you might be wondering, “How does this affect me?” Well, folks, when AIC enhances the airport’s infrastructure, it translates into a better travel experience for all of us. Imagine smoother takeoffs and landings, and fewer delays! Plus, the improved facilities mean that LIA can support the growing connectivity needs of Mindanao. With tourism and business booming, having a reliable airport is essential for keeping everyone connected.

But wait, there’s more! This upgrade is just one part of AIC’s larger plan to modernize several airports across the Philippines. With 2025 on the horizon, we can expect even more improvements that will elevate our travel experience. AIC isn’t just focused on LIA; they’re also looking at Mactan-Cebu International Airport and Bohol-Panglao International Airport. It’s all about strengthening domestic and regional connectivity. So, let’s buckle up and get ready for takeoff, because our travel experience is about to level up!
