Exciting News: Road Ahead – Quick Update on the Bigaan River Project!

Hey there, fellow readers! Today, I have some thrilling updates to share about a significant construction project that’s kicking off soon. Brace yourselves for the remarkable journey as we dive into the details of the "Construction of Road Dike Structure Along Bigaan River, Cugman Section," right here in Cagayan de Oro City.
What's Happening?

As of November 16, 2025, the Contractor awarded the project is none other than ᴇQᴜɪ-ᴘᴀʀᴄᴏ ᴄᴏɴꜱᴛ. ᴄᴏᴍᴘᴀɴʏ. They’re set to start making some tangible changes to our community! Can you believe it? This initiative is not just about road improvements; it’s about enhancing safety and accessibility for everyone in the area. It all kicks off on February 17, 2025.
And get this: the contract is expected to run until February 11, 2026, with a jaw-dropping cost of ₱180,583,544.72. That’s a lot of investment into our infrastructure! The implementing office for all of this excitement? Yep, it’s the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH). They’ll oversee the project to ensure everything is executed flawlessly.
What’s Next for Us?

Now, you might be wondering, “What does this mean for me?” Well, for starters, expect some construction activity in the Cugman section. Although noise and occasional detours are in the cards, the end goal is vital. Improved drainage and robust road structures will help reduce flooding and enhance traffic flow during heavy rains.
Funding this ambitious project comes straight from the GAA 2025. It’s heartening to see our government allocating resources for the betterment of our community. So, let’s stay patient and positive as we gear up for a more connected and safer Cagayan de Oro!
Stay tuned for more info and updates about this exciting journey as we watch our city grow and flourish!
