The Office of Civil Defense - Region X, under Director Antonio B. Sugarol, just leveled up local disaster preparedness. Through the Policy Development and Planning Section, they successfully conducted the Provincial Orientation and Technical Assistance in preparation for the CY 2026 Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council and Offices Assessment across Northern Mindanao.
Participating provinces included Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, and Misamis Oriental. Moreover, the activity gathered Local DRRM Officers and their staff. They strengthened capacities and enhanced preparedness through guided discussions, technical support, and shared best practices.
Building Stronger Defenses Together
Furthermore, this hands-on session boosted collaboration among LDRRMOs. As a result, teams exchanged valuable insights that will shape more effective disaster plans. Consequently, communities now stand better equipped to face future challenges.
Ultimately, this initiative reflects OCD-X’s continued commitment to building resilient and disaster-ready communities in Northern Mindanao. Everyone involved walked away more prepared and connected.
