Hey there, folks! Today, let’s dive into the vibrant world of social welfare right here in Cagayan de Oro City. If you’ve ever wondered how collaboration can turn challenges into triumphs, you’re in for a treat. The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-10 recently celebrated its 75th anniversary in style, showcasing how teamwork among national government agencies (NGAs), local government units (LGUs), and civil society organizations is reshaping the landscape of social welfare programs in Northern Mindanao. So, grab your coffee and let’s get into it!

Collaboration in Action: The Power of Teamwork

During the anniversary bash, DSWD-10 officials took a moment to recognize the stars of the show—the partners who have been instrumental in implementing vital programs across the region. From LGUs in Bukidnon to Misamis Oriental and beyond, the “Panata Ko sa Bayan” awarding ceremony highlighted the incredible efforts made by various stakeholders. DSWD Regional Director Glofelia Uayan perfectly summed it up: “Nothing is impossible when everyone is working together.” And you know what? She’s spot on!

It’s all about coordinated efforts that help extend much-needed assistance to communities. The DSWD collaborates with LGUs to deliver essential services, including social protection programs and disaster response. Meanwhile, NGAs offer technical support and policy coordination, while NGOs dive into program implementation and community engagement. This synergy is what makes the magic happen in our neighborhoods!

Recognizing Champions: A Round of Applause

Let’s take a moment to applaud the Gawad Kalambuan awardees! Hats off to the LGUs of Libona, Don Carlos, and more—your hard work is truly inspiring. And it doesn’t stop there; the DSWD-10 also recognized inter-agency partners like the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) and the Department of Health. Together, they’re creating impactful interventions for our less fortunate communities. PIA Regional Head Franklin P. Gumapon nailed it when he said that the recognition motivates everyone to cooperate and collaborate even more.

Additionally, DSWD Undersecretary Fatima Aliah Dimaporo expressed heartfelt gratitude to all partners for their unwavering support. It’s clear that the commitment to expand access to social welfare services is stronger than ever. With this kind of dedication, Cagayan de Oro City is setting the bar high, proving that when we work together, we can achieve remarkable things.
