Persons with disabilities (PWDs) in Cagayan de Oro City are joining the fight against red tape. Their leaders signed up for the Anti-Red Tape and Abuse Auxiliary (ARTA-X) on Sept. 18.
The signing took place during a CAFEDPA meeting. As volunteers, they now assist the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA).
First, the leaders studied Republic Act No. 11032, the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018.
Then they trained to spot violations. These include extra fees, requirements missing from the Citizen's Charter, noontime breaks, and unexplained delays.
PDAO Head Maria Liza Corpuz backs ARTA's information campaigns. She wants PWDs and other sectors to know their rights.
Meanwhile, ARTA Deputy Director General Juabily Racho invites everyone to help. Racho urges citizens to serve their communities and push for better public service.
Ultimately, PWD leaders now act as community partners. They promote awareness of service standards and flag practices that delay citizens.
So, next time you meet a mystery fee, speak up. Together, we can build efficient government services.
