The Epic Planting Kickoff

Agri-NorMin and private seed companies planted the seeds of success on May 12 at NMACLRC in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon. They launched the Vegetable Derby to scale up veggie production across Northern Mindanao. Moreover, partners like Pilipinas Kaneko Seeds, Ramgo International, Allied Botanical, East-West Seed, and fertilizer firms such as Yara Philippines joined the fun.
They covered 3,154 square meters with exciting crops including lettuce, cauliflower, cabbage, carrots, Chinese cabbage, okra, squash, and ampalaya. Farmers and techs now watch these varieties battle it out under local conditions.

Boosting Farmers and Future Harvests

Marnelly Ann P. Flores highlighted how the derby showcases top-performing seeds suited for the region's climate. This initiative guides smarter procurement of quality inputs.

Regional Executive Director Jose Apollo Y. Pacamalan stressed the power of partnerships. They expand next to Lantapan, Talakag in Bukidnon, and Claveria in Misamis Oriental. The derby also teaches sustainable practices and tests yield, resistance, and adaptability, helping everyone grow better veggies.
