X-Ray Vision Comes to the Barangay: Mambuaya's Big Health Day

COURTESY: Cagayan de OrO City Information Office

Big news, Mambuaya! The City Health Office (CHO) deployed its first-ever Mobile Van X-Ray during the "Kuyug Ta sa Serbisyo sa Baryo" (KSB) on Saturday, October 3. The van rolled into the barangay, and residents quickly noticed it.

Moreover, the CHO made this milestone happen by bringing a diagnostic service straight to the community.

Before this, residents had to travel to the City Health Office or city hospitals for an X-ray. Now, the mobile X-ray service brought free examinations right into their neighborhood.

As a result, families skipped the long commute and the stress that comes with it.

Through this initiative, residents can avail themselves of essential diagnostic services closer to their homes. Consequently, they saved precious time and transportation expenses.

In addition, many parents and workers could get checked without giving up a full day's earnings.

Naturally, the community loved it. Many residents of Barangay Mambuaya expressed their appreciation and highlighted the convenience of having the X-ray facility brought directly to them.

Overall, the CHO's first Mobile Van X-Ray proves that good health care can travel. Let's hope more barangays get their turn soon!

Knocking on Doors, Opening Windows: How MisOr-CDO MSMEs Are Going Global

COURTESY: PIA 10

The Misamis Oriental-Cagayan de Oro MSME Development Council (MisOr-CDO MSMEDC) is pushing hard for expanded market access. During its Sept. 28 meeting, members reviewed programs and agency accomplishments. The results look promising.

For instance, the Provincial Government helped 50 MSMEs display products, while 100 local products appeared in trade fairs. Meanwhile, IFEX 2026 generated P5.2 million in total sales, and eight MSMEs met potential buyers.

Next, DTI Provincial Director Jesusa Abear led talks on supporting 10 MSMEs at the Hong Kong Trade Development Council Food Expo. Likewise, the council wants government agencies to source corporate giveaways from the GINAMA One Town, One Product Hub at Gaston Park.

Barbette C. Roa of the Investment Promotion Division admits budget constraints exist. Still, the province keeps helping MSMEs. Packaging and labeling remain tough hurdles, so officials asked DOST to improve nutrition facts for four El Salvador City MSMEs.

Oro Chamber President Almarco Brito urges businesses to act. If the private sector knocks, he says, government doors will open. Moreover, FOPANORMIN's Marle Noble says council seats give small owners a real voice in policy, especially on financing, digitalization, and registration.

A Wake-Up Call for Every Driver

COURTESY: Roads And Traffic Administration

Here's your road crash update for October 3, 2026. Someone reported a crash at 8:53 AM along Gaerlan Street, beside Gaston Park.

A Honda Civic and a bus collided. Sadly, the crash left one person injured.

Afterward, crews towed the Honda Civic to the City Impounding and Towing Unit (CITU). That cleared the scene so traffic could keep moving.

Meanwhile, drivers in the area may still see slowdowns. So if you're heading that way, plan a little extra travel time.

Crashes like this remind us how quickly a normal morning can change. Moreover, they affect more than the people involved.

Families, commuters, and neighbors all feel the impact. That's why every traffic update deserves our attention.

Please drive safely and observe traffic rules at all times. It takes only a moment to protect yourself and others.

Slow down, stay alert, and give other vehicles plenty of space. Together, we can make our roads safer.
