The Local Government of Manolo Fortich officially opened the new Teen Center on May 22, 2026. This vibrant hub now serves as the office of the Local Youth Development Office (LYDO) and a youth development center. Moreover, it sits at the old municipal grounds behind Landbank Manolo Fortich Building.  

Youth Dreams Take Flight

Mayor Rogelio N. Quiño shared that this facility becomes a safe, productive space where young people learn, build skills, and join meaningful activities. Additionally, Teen Center empowers youth through skills training, mentoring, and personal growth, as written by LYD Officer III Ronel E. Germany. Vice Mayor Reynaldo L. Bagayas Jr., Councilor Elzevir A. Dagunlay, Councilor Rina E. Quiño, and SK Federation President Janus E. Wake also attended to support ongoing youth development.

Local leaders just leveled up their emergency game. OCD-X Dir. Antonio B. Sugarol graced the closing programs of the five-day Incident Command System Position Course (ICSPC) Trainings for the Municipality of Tubod, Lanao del Norte and Iligan City on May 22, 2026, held in Cagayan de Oro City. 

Participants trained hard at Deluxe Hotel for Tubod and Chali Beach Resort for Iligan City. 

Director Sugarol delivered a powerful message. He emphasized the importance of strengthening local disaster response capabilities through effective implementation of the Incident Command System and encouraged participants to apply their learnings in promoting organized, coordinated, and efficient emergency response operations in their respective localities. 

Teams now stand ready to tackle crises with confidence and coordination.

The Epic Switch-On That Changed Everything

On 22 May 2026, NEA Administrator Antonio Mariano Almeda attended the ceremonial switch-on and inauguration of the 20.774-megawatt peak (MWp) Solar Facility of FDC Green Energy Corp. at the PHIVIDEC Industrial Estate located in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental. Energy leaders sprang into action that day. 

Leading the inauguration of the solar project was Energy Secretary Sharon Garin, who delivered the congratulatory address on behalf of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. Also present at the event were ERC Chairperson Atty. Francis Saturnino Juan and Energy Undersecretary Mario Marasigan, alongside other industry stakeholders. They celebrated big time as clean power flowed.

Why This Solar Beast Matters Big Time

According to FDC Green, the solar facility is expected to generate about 30.2 million kilowatt-hours of net clean energy annually. Therefore, it helps support the growing power requirements of communities and industries across Mindanao. 

Moreover, this project pushes green energy forward fast. Locals and factories now tap reliable sunshine power, so they cut costs and emissions together. What a bold win for the region!
