Power crews hustle right now in Bagumbayan, Kauswagan, Lanao del Norte. They tackle the burnt and aged 69kV SF6 Circuit Breaker. This outage hits hard, affecting the Municipalities of Maigo, Bacolod, Munai, Kauswagan, Poona Piagapo, Linamon, and Matungao, Lanao del Norte. 

Why the Lights Stay Off

Technicians fix the tripping/closing coil issues. However, defective auxiliary contact, stuck mechanical interlocking, or simple wear and tear likely caused the problem. De-energization during trip time made everything worse.

𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗘𝗖𝗢 𝗝𝗢𝗜𝗡𝗦 𝗖𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗖𝗢𝗣𝗢𝗪𝗘𝗥 𝗚𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗗 𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗖𝗘𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗢𝗡𝗬 𝗜𝗡 𝗞𝗔𝗣𝗔𝗧𝗔𝗚𝗔𝗡, 𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗔𝗢 𝗗𝗘𝗟 𝗡𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗘

On March 24, 2026, LANECO stepped up at Barangay Curvada, Kapatagan, Lanao del Norte for the big event. Moreover, this marks the municipality’s very first solar power development. Consequently, the project will pump out up to 4,384 MWh every year while delivering a solid 2.6 MW of clean renewable energy. Therefore, it boosts both local economic growth and environmental sustainability at the same time.

Why This Solar Splash Matters Big Time

Furthermore, the ceremony drew heavy hitters like Lanao del Norte Governor Hon. Mohamad Khalid Q. Dimaporo and eager Kapatagan officials. Meanwhile, LANECO General Manager Sherwin Mañada sent his Board of Directors, led by President Khalid Dimaporo, to represent the cooperative with pride. Additionally, everyone celebrated this green energy win inside LANECO’s franchise area. 

Thus, LANECO welcomes this fresh investment with open arms. Besides that, the cooperative thanks the province for pushing continuous economic progress. Ultimately, sunny days ahead look brighter than ever for Kapatagan and beyond.

Scheduled power interruption in parts of Lanao del Norte and parts of Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur, on Sunday, 17 August 2025.

Affected: LANECO

Time: 8:30AM - 9:00AM 

Reason: transfer of load during maintenance of Power Transformer #1 associated high voltage equipment at Aurora Substation.

Time: 1:00PM - 1:30PM

Reason: normalization of load after completion of maintenance works at Aurora Substation. Aurora-Kapatagan 69kV line will be shut down.

Specific areas are determined by the affected electric cooperative. NGCP will exert all efforts to restore power earlier or as scheduled.
