As the digital landscape continually evolves, the importance of robust ICT skills cannot be overstated. Recent developments at Central Mindanao University (CMU) illuminate this trend. On April 25, 2025, a total of 26 third-year and graduating ICT/IT students participated in the rigorous ICT Proficiency Diagnostic Exam (Level I) at the DICT Training Center (DTC) in Maramag, Bukidnon. This initiative, designed to elevate studentsโ ICT competencies, reflects a significant step towards their professional development.
The exam took place over two sessionsโmorning and afternoonโdeliberately structured to assess the students' core competencies in programming and systems analysis & design. Not only did this diagnostic exam serve as a valuable assessment tool, but it also prepared the students for the upcoming ICT Proficiency Certification Exam. This certification represents a vital milestone in their academic and professional journey, positioning them favorably in the competitive job market.
A Significant Step Forward
The initiative was spearheaded by #YourDICT10, under the auspices of the ICT Literacy and Competency Development Bureau โ Certification, Competency, and Courseware Development Division (C3D2). This concerted effort aligns with national policies aimed at enhancing ICT proficiencies among students across the Philippines. By participating in the exam, CMU students demonstrated their commitment to advancing their ICT journey, an endeavor that holds great promise for their future careers.
As the students faced this challenge, they collectively showcased their determination and readiness to excel in the demanding field of ICT. With the prospect of earning the Electronic Data Processing Specialist Eligibility (EDPSE) from the Civil Service Commission (CSC) on the horizon, it is evident that these students are not only preparing for immediate academic assessments but also investing in a bright professional future. Kudos to the CMU students for taking this crucial step!
