The Signing That Powers Up Gender Equality

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — The Philippine Commission on Women-North Mindanao Field Office (PCW-NMFO) and the Philippine Information Agency (PIA)-10 sign a memorandum of agreement on March 26. They strengthen gender and development (GAD) communication in Northern Mindanao. Signatories include PCW Executive Director Nharleen Santos-Millar, PIA-10 Regional Head Franklin Gumapon, Regional Gender and Development Committee-10 Chairperson and Commission on Population and Development-10 Regional Director Neil Aldrin Omega, and PIA-10 Information Officer Retchie Paculba. So they launch the partnership with clear purpose.

Under the agreement, PIA-10 features PCW-NMFO programs in its NorMin Plus e-magazine. They allocate two pages for gender and development content.

Fresh Tools That Make Equality Easy to See and Share

PIA-10 and PCW-NMFO co-develop the “Giya sa Gender-Sensitibo nga Pagbalita.” They create a digital media guide for private media, regional line agencies, local government units, and information officers of state universities and colleges. Moreover, this guide supports stakeholders in delivering gender-responsive services and reporting.

They also co-produce “AlaGAD sa DYES,” a quarterly video magazine. It features initiatives, women’s stories, and gender and development practices. The first video magazine appears during the signing and covers gender-fair language, Pasundayag, and a “Myth vs. Fact” on GAD concepts.
