RTA Cracks Down in Divisoria: Chaos to Calm in One Sweep!

UPDATE! 

RTA IN ACTION! During our monitoring and traffic flow in Divisoria Area and neighboring areas going to the central part of this city, Velez Street-Pabayo Corrales Avenue, we saw several vehicles which were NOTIFIED and issued citations through Traffic Citation Ticket and Unattended Tickets.  

We caught drivers parking where they shouldn't. Vehicles left in prohibited spots slow down the steady flow of traffic. So we acted fast.  

**Enforcers on the Move**  

Together with our Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA) Officers and personnel from our Enforcement Division-Motorcycle Reaction Team, we strive to make the streets smooth and plastered for other motorists to pass and other pedestrians to be safe.  

We notified owners and slapped tickets on unattended vehicles. This is what we do to maintain traffic plasteriness. We inform drivers about prohibited areas like leaving cars on road corners with No Parking Signs, on sidewalks or in travel lanes itself especially when left by its owner.

Glamour Hits the Shores: Misamis Occidental Steals the Spotlight in Miss Universe Philippines 2026!

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — Misamis Occidental will host selected preliminary activities of the Miss Universe Philippines 2026 pageant from April 21 to 26. The province jumps into action as a key partner, so locals and visitors gear up for an exciting week.

Beaches, Beauty, and Bold Moves

The province will serve as a host site for activities, including the swimsuit competition, official photoshoots, and video features highlighting local destinations. Governor Henry Oaminal said the event provides an opportunity to present the province’s tourism sites to a wider audience. He added that the swimsuit competition for our contestants will be held here, and our AMORAP (Asenso Misamis Occidental Recreation and Adventure Park) will be ready by that time. We will be opening this to the public.

Accommodations are also available in the cities of Ozamiz and Oroquieta, and nearby municipalities for visitors attending the event. Therefore, everyone can easily join the fun without hassle.

Public Power and Pageant Vibes

Voltaire Tayag, executive vice president of Miss Universe Philippines, said the collaboration includes staging preliminary activities in the province. He introduced a new point system that lets the public participate in the selection process. Voters may select candidates through the Maya application during the preliminary round. Consequently, the Top 10 candidates voted online will be announced in Misamis Occidental, while other finalists will be named during the coronation night in Manila.

The provincial government said preparations are ongoing for the scheduled activities as the pageant continues its pre-event programs. Thus, Misamis Occidental shines bright on the national stage, blending beauty with local pride.
