From the early morning air filled with warm greetings to the sound of laughter echoing through the court, the atmosphere felt alive with hope and unity. The day began with a flag-raising ceremony, led by Barangay Macabalan council under Punong Barangay Saniel Raypon, who warmly welcomed Mayor Klarex Uy alongside the 21st city council and the energetic team from city hall.

The People’s Day brimmed with services designed to touch lives directly—free medical check-ups, essential medicines, five kilos of rice, wheelchairs, and assistance for community-related inquiries such as scholarships, job applications, late birth registration, and renewal of business permits. Each service station overflowed with residents eager to receive the help they needed, and the smiles spoke louder than words.

Stories of Gratitude and Courage

Among the hundreds of beneficiaries, one voice stood out—Leonie Narabay. Battling diabetes and already having lost a leg, Leonie’s eyes lit up as she shared her story. She was deeply touched, saying, *"Malipayon ako nga first time, nakatagamtam ko sa serbisyo sa People’s Day. Salamat kaayo sa iyang gihatag nga medical assistance. Daghang Salamat, Mayor Klarex Uy. Dako kini og ikatabang sa akong kahimtang karon."* Her heartfelt message was more than words—it was a reflection of how a single act of kindness can change a life.

The event wasn’t just about delivering services; it was about showing compassion and solidarity. Alongside Mayor Klarex Uy, notable figures such as City Councilor Atty. Edgar Cabanlas, Dok Paolo Nicolo Gaane, Enrico Salcedo, and Alam Lim graced the event, underscoring the collective commitment to uplifting the barangay. With People’s Day scheduled to visit communities every second to fourth Monday of the month, hope continues to travel from one barangay to another, bringing with it opportunities, assistance, and a shared vision of progress.

*In Barangay Macabalan, People’s Day was more than a civic program—it was a tapestry of compassion, resolve, and unity, reminding everyone that community service is the heart of true leadership.*
