Building a Brighter Future: P85M Infra Projects in Barangay Tablon Begin Construction

COURTESY: Cong. Rufus Rodriguez

There's something magical about the start of a new project. The air buzzes with anticipation, dreams take flight, and the promise of a better tomorrow feels closer than ever. This sense of optimism was palpable during the groundbreaking ceremonies for the P85M infrastructure projects in Barangay Tablon. Led by Cong. Rufus Rodriguez, alongside his chief-of-staff Kap. Atty. Regine Rodriguez and officials from the DPWH 2nd District Engineering Office, the community gathered to mark the beginning of these transformative ventures.

In a world often riddled with uncertainties, it's heartwarming to witness leaders taking tangible steps to uplift communities. The initiatives in Barangay Tablon aim to address critical needs and lay the foundation for a brighter, safer, and more prosperous future. Let's delve into these projects and explore how they will reshape the landscape of Barangay Tablon.

Flooding has been a perennial challenge for the residents living beside the Cugman River. The anxiety of rising waters and the fear of losing homes and belongings have been constant companions for many. The P50 million flood control structure is set to change that narrative. This monumental project aims to mitigate flood risks, ensuring that the lives and properties of residents are safeguarded.

Imagine the peace of mind that comes with knowing your home is protected from natural calamities. This flood control structure isn't just a physical barrier; it's a symbol of security and resilience. As the construction progresses, the community will undoubtedly breathe a collective sigh of relief, knowing that their safety is a top priority.

Education is the cornerstone of any thriving community, and Cong. Rufus Rodriguez understands this deeply. The P14.9 million investment in a new school building at Tablon National High School is a testament to his commitment to nurturing young minds. This three-storey, six-classroom structure will cater to the growing student population, providing them with the space and resources they need to excel.

The importance of a conducive learning environment cannot be overstated. With this new building, students will have access to modern facilities that foster creativity and innovation. It's not just about bricks and mortar; it's about creating an atmosphere where dreams can flourish and futures can be built. And let's not forget the P8 million covered court, another project spearheaded by Cong. Rufus, which will provide students with a space for physical activities and community gatherings.

Good infrastructure is the backbone of any community. The P10 million allocated for roads with drainage in Barangay Tablon will address multiple issues simultaneously. Better roads mean improved connectivity, easier access to essential services, and a boost to local businesses. The added drainage systems will ensure that these roads remain functional and safe, even during heavy rains.

Imagine driving on smooth roads without the worry of potholes or flooding. The convenience and safety that come with well-maintained infrastructure can significantly enhance the quality of life for residents. This project spans six sections, including areas near Coco Bay, Rusco Motors, Mandaue Foam, and Legaspi Oil, ensuring that multiple parts of the barangay benefit from these improvements.

Safety and security are paramount for any community, and the installation of 72 solar street lights in Barangay Tablon is a significant step in that direction. With a budget of P10 million, these lights will be strategically placed in various areas, including Umalag Bridge, Suysing-GMC Road, Tablon NHS Basketball Court, and several Puroks. The presence of street lighting not only deters crime but also fosters a sense of community and belonging.

Imagine walking home at night under the warm glow of solar-powered street lights. The added visibility reduces the risk of accidents and creates a safer environment for everyone. Moreover, the use of solar energy reflects a commitment to sustainability, ensuring that the benefits of this project extend beyond immediate safety concerns.

The groundbreaking ceremonies were not just about the projects themselves but also about the people who made them possible. Officials from Barangay Tablon, including Kap. Romeo Bacarro, Kag. Eden Fe Hung, Kag. Jing Leonardo, and Former Kag. Angel Pomar, expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Cong. Rufus and the DPWH 2nd DEO. Their appreciation underscored the collaborative spirit that drives such initiatives.

Cong. Rufus also took the opportunity to thank key figures like DPWH 2nd District Engineer Jan Paulo Lisondra, Asst. District Engr. Helen A. Montes, and the DPWH project engineers and staff. Their dedication and hard work are the bedrock upon which these projects will stand.

Looking ahead, Cong. Rufus has committed to allocating another P10 million for additional solar street lights and P10 million for road concreting in Barangay Tablon for FY 2025. These commitments reflect a long-term vision for the community's growth and development.

As the construction of these P85M infrastructure projects begins, the residents of Barangay Tablon can look forward to a future filled with promise and progress. These initiatives are more than just physical structures; they are the building blocks of a stronger, safer, and more vibrant community. And as the first shovels hit the ground, one can almost hear the whispers of hope and the dreams of a brighter tomorrow.
