A Tribute to Bravery and Dedication

On a momentous occasion, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-10 commemorated its 34th anniversary on the vibrant and significant theme, “Pambansang Bumbero: Bayaning Maasahan.” This celebration took place at the picturesque Pearlmont in Cagayan de Oro City. Not only did this event honor the gallant firefighters, but it also recognized the invaluable contributions made by local government units (LGUs), stakeholders, and private individuals in supporting the mission of the BFP. It is essential to emphasize that community engagement plays a pivotal role in enhancing fire safety and preparedness across the region.
One of the highlights of the celebration was the presence of Governor Henry S. Oaminal, who accepted the esteemed role of Guest of Honor and Speaker. In his inspiring address, he extolled the bravery and dedication exhibited by BFP personnel in their relentless fight to protect lives, properties, and the very essence of hope within our communities. Moreover, his commendation of the firefighters underscored the significance of their unwavering commitment to service, an attribute that distinguishes them as true heroes in the eyes of the public.
The Road Ahead: A Vision for the Future

As the BFP-10 reflects on its accomplishments over the past 34 years, it also sets its sights on the future. During the anniversary event, Governor Oaminal proudly announced that Misamis Occidental will host the BFP Regional Fire Olympics from August 25 to 27, 2025. This exciting venture not only showcases the skills and expertise of our firefighters but also acts as a platform for fostering camaraderie and cooperation among fire protection personnel across the region.
This upcoming event offers a unique opportunity to further bolster the commitment of the Bureau of Fire Protection to excellence and community service. As firefighters continue to embody the spirit of resilience and courage, they serve not only as first responders but also as role models within their communities. It is through events like these that the BFP-10 can inspire younger generations to recognize the importance of fire safety and commit themselves to the noble profession of firefighting.
The 34th anniversary of the Bureau of Fire Protection-10 stands as a reminder of the pivotal role that bravery, dedication, and community collaboration play in fostering safe environments. As we move forward, let us honor the past while embracing a future where fire safety continues to thrive, supported by the collective efforts of individuals and organizations dedicated to this noble cause.
