A Road With Real Momentum

Cagayan de Oro's traffic woes might finally have an expiration date. During a recent site visit to the Coastal Road Project in Brgy. Gusa, DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon and Congressman Rufus Rodriguez also checked in on the Eastern Interior Bypass Road, and the update is a promising one.
Secretary Dizon confirmed that the ₱1-billion 2027 funding for CDO Eastern Interior Bypass Road is now locked in, part of a larger ₱10-billion project. Meanwhile, ₱7 billion more is still needed, but he's confident national funds can cover it.
Bridges Already Rising

Five bridges along the route are already under construction, Cong. Rodriguez noted. That's tangible progress, not just paperwork promises.
Why It Matters

This bypass isn't just another road. It's meant to divert traffic from the city's only highway, easing the daily crunch between Gusa and Puerto.
Looking Ahead

Right-of-way issues remain, yet both leaders sound committed. If funding stays steady, Kagay-anons could finally see relief from decades of congestion.
