The air was filled with excitement as officials and community members gathered for the groundbreaking of a new **SCHOOL BUILDING** inside Camaman-an Elementary School in Barangay Camaman-an, Cagayan de Oro City. Headed by Congressman Rufus Rodriguez, accompanied by his chief-of-staff Atty. Regine Rodriguez, the moment marked yet another step toward fulfilling the promise of quality and accessible education. This project, funded with ₱20 million, is not just about laying cement—it’s about laying the foundation for a brighter future.  

Much-needed **DUGANG CLASSROOMS ITUKOD SA CAMAMAN-AN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL** will soon rise, answering the call to address classroom shortages in the city. For Cong. Rufus, this is more than just a priority; it’s a mission. As children look forward to plastered and safe rooms where they can learn without worry, the vision of a better learning environment takes shape before our very eyes.  

Collaboration for a Stronger Future

The groundbreaking ceremony itself was a celebration of unity. Camaman-an ES principal Dr. Paul Badon stood proudly with the Department of Public Works and Highways’ 2nd District Engineering Office, led by District Engineer Jan Paulo Lisondra. Alongside them were key community leaders such as Kap. Bodie Galarrita, Kag. Maria Lorna Namoc, Kag. Ernesto Atok, and Comrade Alicia Y. Cables. Their presence symbolized the collective effort in making education a true priority.  

Moreover, Cong. Rufus’s vision extends far beyond just constructing new classrooms. Plans to rehabilitate the school gym and improve flood control in the area showcase his holistic approach to development. This time, they’ve led the turnover and blessing of a brand-new ambulance to Barangay Balubal, Cagayan de Oro City. On a sunny morning, the atmosphere in Barangay Balubal was electric. The Canter ambulance, which was purchased all the way from Japan through the personal funds of the Rodriguez family, gleamed under the sunlight. This wasn't just any ordinary day; it was a day that marked a new chapter for the residents of Balubal.

Cong. Rufus, VM Bebot, and Kap. Atty. Regine Rodriguez were present to hand over the keys to this life-saving vehicle. The event was a blend of solemnity and celebration, as the ambulance was blessed, symbolizing hope and a promise of better health services. 

One of the most significant challenges in hinterland barangays has always been the timely transportation of patients to hospitals. Emergencies are unpredictable, and every second counts when it comes to saving lives. The donation of this ambulance aims to bridge that critical gap. 

Cong. Rufus Rodriguez emphasized the importance of this donation in his heartfelt message. “We have to save lives. Dako kaayo og tabang ang ambulance kay makasiguro gyud ta na matabangan ug masalbar nato [ang mga tawo] kung naay emergency,” he stated. His words resonated deeply with everyone present, driving home the reality that this ambulance is more than just a vehicle—it’s a lifeline.

Receiving this generous donation on behalf of Barangay Balubal was none other than the Barangay Balubal Council. Led by Kap. Pablo Bactong, the council members Kag. Renato Agbalog Jr., Kag. Reynante Razalo, Kag. Dionedes Rosel, Kag. Eva Mae Abuso, Kag. Patrina Malingin, Kag. Arem Alconde, Kag. Neil Baconguis, SK Chair Melanie Maestrado, and former Kap. Vivian Malingin were all present. 

Their gratitude was palpable, and they expressed their commitment to using this ambulance to its fullest potential. With this new addition, the council is optimistic about improving responsiveness to health emergencies and ensuring that valuable lives are saved.
