Lights On, Worries Off: Panagaan Substation Powers Up District II

Big news just reached Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur. On October 23, 2026, the Zamboanga del Sur I Electric Cooperative, Inc. (ZAMSURECO-I) blessed and commissioned its new 10-MVA Panagaan Substation in Barangay Panagaan. The cooperative invested PHP 28,850,000.00 in the project.

Moreover, engineers designed it to upgrade voltage profiles, boost distribution efficiency, and cut technical system losses.

District II coverage will feel the difference first. Mahayag, Dumingag, Josefina, and Don Victoriano Chiongbian, Misamis Occidental, all gain from stronger, steadier power.

Consequently, households, schools, and local businesses can count on reliable electricity. Stable voltage also supports long-term economic development and household energy security.

Rev. Fr. Rey Silme M. Silangan led the ribbon-cutting and blessing. Then General Manager and CEO Jose Raul A. Saniel joined Board Vice President Francisco Gumban, District II Director Nimfa P. Sacala, and other directors and staff. Meanwhile, Radyo Kidlat and Jay Channel covered the event.

GM Saniel called the project a structural transition for the cooperative. He promised stable, cost-effective, and responsive service to every member-consumer-owner (MCO) in District II.

Likewise, Gumban commended the engineering and administrative teams and reaffirmed the Board's commitment to modernization, total electrification, and affordable, innovative service.
