From Drain to Gain: Cogon's Wastewater Makeover

COURTESY: CIO

Great news, neighbors! Cogon now has a second Wastewater Treatment Facility, and we couldn't be happier. Honestly, it feels like a breath of fresh air for the whole city.

Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) funded the project, so the city gets modern infrastructure without carrying the full cost.

First, cleaner water means healthier communities. The facility treats wastewater before it reaches our rivers and seas.

Moreover, it protects local livelihoods. Fishers, vendors, and families all benefit when the environment stays clean. As a result, everyone enjoys a safer, more pleasant place to live.

Of course, this success did not happen overnight. Thanks to Mayor Rolando 'Klarex' A. Uy and Kag. Edgar S. Cabanlas, Chair of the Committee on Economic Enterprise, for their constant support to our campaign that led to the acquisition of the second Wastewater Treatment Facility in Cogon funded by JICA.

Their leadership kept the campaign moving, even when challenges popped up. Indeed, their commitment shows what teamwork achieves.

Now, we keep the momentum going. Residents can help by disposing of waste responsibly and following local guidelines. Every small effort counts.

Together, we will protect this investment. After all, a clean Cogon belongs to everyone, so let's take care of it.
