In a proactive move to uphold the highest standards of hospitality, the City Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office (CTCAO) successfully conducted its first monitoring and inspection of hotels and accommodation establishments on February 20, 2026. This vital initiative took place in the bustling areas of Barangay Bulua and Iponan, showcasing the commitment to tourism excellence in the region. Through meticulous evaluations, the CTCAO aims to ensure that every tourism-related business adheres to legal, documentary, and operational standards as mandated by the Department of Tourism (DOT).

The Inspection Process: A Thorough Evaluation

Under the expert guidance of Atty. Spencer P. Palen, the chief of the Standards, Regulations, and Trainings Division, the inspection team set out to assess several key factors critical to the hospitality industry. They meticulously checked for valid business permits, DOT accreditation seals, occupancy permits, and a plethora of other government-issued certifications. Each establishment underwent a rigorous evaluation, emphasizing compliance and operational integrity.

Moreover, the inspection served not only as a means of ensuring adherence to regulations but also as an opportunity for hotels and accommodations to enhance their services. By fostering an environment of accountability, the CTCAO encourages businesses to elevate their offerings, ultimately benefiting both tourists and the local economy. As the inspection team concluded their evaluations, they left behind a path of improvement and inspiration for the local hospitality sector.
