In the annals of history, the bravery and sacrifices of those who fought for our freedom and independence, especially against Japanese imperialism, stand out as a testament to their unwavering spirit. Our fallen heroes, through their acts of valor, have carved their names in our hearts and history books, reminding us of the heavy price paid for the liberties we enjoy today. These individuals, who laid down their lives in the fierce battles of the past, deserve not only our remembrance but our eternal gratitude.
The clash against Japanese imperialism was marked by countless acts of heroism, both known and untold, painting a picture of determination and resilience. Our veterans, those who survived the ordeals, carry with them stories of courage and camaraderie, serving as living testimonies to the profound impact of their sacrifices. It is our solemn duty to honor their legacy, ensuring that future generations understand the significance of their contributions to our nation's story.

In this spirit of remembrance, the 82nd Araw ng Kagitingan serves as a poignant reminder of our past struggles for sovereignty and the enduring strength of the human spirit in the face of adversity. The commemorative program, led by Majority Floor Leader Atty. Edgar Cabanlas on behalf of Mayor Klarex Uy, was held at the El Pueblo A Sus Heroes monument in Plaza Divisoria, April 9th. This ceremony symbolizes our collective homage to the indomitable will of those who fought against oppressors.
The setting of the commemoration, El Pueblo A Sus Heroes monument, stands not just as a landmark but as a beacon of hope and bravery. It signifies our unbroken connection to the past and our commitment to never forget the sacrifices made for the freedoms we now hold dear. Atty. Edgar Cabanlas, representing the city's leadership, embodies the bridge between generations, ensuring that the valor of our forebearers continues to inspire and influence our path forward.

As we navigate the challenges of the present and future, the legacies of our war veterans and fallen heroes remain a guiding light. Their unyielding courage in the dark days of conflict against Japanese imperialism serves as a foundation upon which we build our aspirations and dreams. It is through acknowledging and preserving their stories that we can impart the values of sacrifice, unity, and patriotism to the younger generations.

In schools, homes, and public squares, the tales of heroism and perseverance should be told and retold. By doing so, we imbue our daily lives with a sense of purpose and a deeper appreciation for the freedoms often taken for granted. This act of remembrance strengthens our national identity and fortifies our resolve to stand against any force that seeks to undermine our sovereignty and way of life.

The commemoration of Araw ng Kagitingan, spearheaded by figures such as Atty. Edgar Cabanlas, is a call to action for every citizen. It encourages us to play an active role in preserving the memories of those who fought for our independence. Whether through educational initiatives, community programs, or simply by passing on the stories of valor to the next generation, each of us has a part to play in keeping the flame of liberty and courage burning bright.

Engaging in these acts of remembrance and honor not only pays tribute to our fallen heroes and war veterans but also reinforces the values they fought for. It is a testament to our resilience as a nation and our unwavering commitment to uphold the freedoms that define us.

As the sun sets on another Araw ng Kagitingan, our gratitude for our veterans and fallen heroes remains undiminished. The sacrifices made in the battle against Japanese imperialism have gifted us a legacy of freedom that we must fiercely protect and cherish. By coming together as a community to remember and honor our brave forebearers, we reaffirm our dedication to preserving the principles for which they valiantly fought.

Let us continue to draw inspiration from their courage, allowing it to shape our actions and resolve as we forge ahead. The tribute to our fallen heroes and war veterans is not confined to a single day but is an ongoing commitment to remember, honor, and emulate their unwavering spirit of patriotism and sacrifice.
