MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur -- A paradigm shift is unfolding in Lanao del Sur's emergency response landscape. The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) and the Bureau of Fire Protection in the Bangsamoro Region (BFP-BARMM) have rolled up their sleeves to enhance the proficiency of first responders in high-angle rescue.
In the realm of emergency response, expertise and preparedness are paramount. This collaboration spearheads an initiative that equips our brave first responders with necessary skills, ensuring faster and safer responses.
Over a span of 15 days, the BFP-BARMM Special Rescue Force facilitated an intensive training in Moncado Kadingilan, Marawi City. This program, unlike any other, covered a myriad of scenarios, focusing on rope access techniques tailored for high-angle environments. This endeavour saw 18 first responders from BFP Lanao del Sur and PDRRMO hone their skills, making them adept at rescuing people from cliffs and other high structures.
Fire Officer Ameroden Naga, a participant of this program, expressed his gratitude for the training that fortified his life-saving skills. He emphasized that knowledge gained through training is the most significant equipment for him and his fellow rescuers.
