The Big Bust Hits Cogon Market

Vendors learned the hard way when authorities cracked down on SELLING FROZEN MEAT WITHOUT FOLLOWING PER REQUIREMENT. City forces swung into action and PASSED TO CITY VET, NMIS teams who confiscated a whopping 384 kg of imported frozen pork. They also seized 27 kg of local fresh pork and 39 kg of chicken due to sloppy handling and missing cold storage.

Dr. Helen Ann Tacandong stressed the rules clearly. Frozen meat must stay at 0°C or below in approved freezers, while thawed meat needs 5°C max in controlled conditions. Meanwhile, the city reminds everyone to keep hygiene tight. Officials plan ongoing inspections and education drives to protect consumers. Transitioning to better practices means safer meat for all!
