In a world where safety and security are paramount, the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) continues to set the standard in preparing its officers for the challenges they face. The BJMP Special Tactics and Response (STAR) Course is a testament to the bureau's commitment to excellence. Today, we celebrate the remarkable achievements of the BJMP STAR Course Class 13-2024, composed of 49 men and 11 women. These dedicated individuals have successfully completed an 85-day rigorous training program, demonstrating perseverance, resilience, and an unyielding commitment to their duties.

The Journey of STAR Course Class 13-2024

The journey for these 60 officers began with a desire to enhance their skills and become better equipped in the line of duty. The 𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞: BJMP STAR Course is not merely a training program; it is an intensive, transformative experience that molds officers into highly skilled professionals. Over the course of 85 days, participants engaged in a variety of training modules designed to challenge their physical, mental, and emotional limits.

Throughout this period, the officers faced numerous challenges that tested their resolve. The training was intense, with strict discipline and high expectations. Alongside Director Rivera were distinguished guests, including Jail Chief Superintendent Efren A Nemeño, Deputy Chief for Operation of the Jail Bureau, and Jail Senior Superintendent Ma Annie A Espinosa, Director for Human Resource Development. Their attendance further underscored the importance of the STAR Course and the vital role these officers play in the BJMP's mission.

CONGRATULATIONS! Dipolognons Win Gold and Bronze in International Science Olympiad in Houston, Texas! The Philippines is beaming with pride as our young scholars took the world by storm at the 6th Copernicus Olympiad. From January 5-10, 2025, the city of Houston, Texas, became the playground of brilliant minds, and guess what? Our very own RJIAN FELMINIA L. ACEVEDO snagged a gold medal, bringing home more than just memories!

RJIAN, a Grade 10 student from the Philippine Science High School Zamboanga Peninsula Region Campus, didn’t just represent the country; she became a symbol of our potential in the global arena. Her exceptional talent and relentless dedication paved the way for this golden victory. But hold on, the story doesn’t end there. Alongside RJIAN, JAYMEE KRISTEN L. CONCHA, a Grade 9 student from the same school, clinched a bronze medal, proving that the magic isn’t just a one-time thing.

The Copernicus Olympiad isn’t your everyday science fair. Held at the prestigious Rice University and kicked off at the Cullen Theater at the University of Houston, this event gathered young Einsteins from around the globe. This experience wasn’t just about seeing rockets; it sparked dreams and fueled their passion for science and innovation.

Under the expert guidance of Engr. Elizabeth M. Rodriguez, the Filipino team was like a well-oiled machine, with every member earning a medal. This stellar performance wasn’t accidental. MARINAS, a Grade 5 student, added another gold to the collection. Not to be outdone, bronze medals were awarded to RICHMARTH DUKE BAD-ANG and MARQUIS XAVIER M. ZAMUCO, both Grade 12 learners.
