Farmers Level Up with Seeds and Super Fertilizers

Government teams delivered PhP141.75 million worth of farm inputs to corn farmers in Misamis Oriental on May 19. DA-NorMin turned over the goods right at the Provincial Capitol Grounds during the flag-raising ceremony. Farmers now grab quality yellow and white corn seeds plus biofertilizers to crank up their harvests.

Moreover, this support targets both food and feed production. Officials like Governor Juliette T. Uy cheered the handover and pushed everyone to plant everything immediately. She reminded local leaders across towns to maximize these tools for real growth and change in the province.

Partnerships Fuel Food Security Wins

Governor Uy praised the teamwork between DA-NorMin, provincial offices, and other agencies. She called it a strong example of government working hand in hand for Misamis Oriental’s progress.

Additionally, PAGRO’s Michelle Ross M. Lace highlighted how these initiatives build unity and shared commitment. Municipal agriculturists in places like Balingoan noted the inputs will spike corn output in upper barangays and help farmers earn more while securing food supplies. This move advances DA’s vision for a Masaganang Bagong Pilipinas through better access to premium farm inputs.

The Epic Lift-Off Moment

Everyone buzzed with excitement as the first operational testing of the new Mobile Harbor Crane was conducted in the Port of Cagayan de Oro on May 13, 2026. Workers cheered while the machine showed off its power. Transitioning smoothly to full action, this beast transforms how crews move goods every single day.
Operators wasted no time demonstrating its true strength. The said crane has Twin Lift capability capable of lifting two 20-foot containers or a 40-foot container in a single operation. They tackled heavy loads with ease and boosted speed across the docks.
Powering Up the Future

The Port Management Office (PMO) Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro continues to promote such initiatives in line with the Integrated Management System (IMS) and the mandate of the Philippine Ports Authority to promote more efficient, safe, and globally competitive operations in the ports. Teams push boundaries and deliver real results.
Port leaders stay focused on innovation. They keep upgrading equipment and training crews to handle bigger challenges ahead. This move clearly puts Cagayan de Oro on the map for smarter shipping.

Sparking Scholarly Fire in Iligan

MSU-IIT just dropped a game-changer on May 13 by launching its University Press. Chancellor Prof. Alizedney M. Ditucalan proudly declared the move shows the school doesn't just consume knowledge—it produces and stewards it. Moreover, this affirms MSU-IIT's power in shaping talks on Mindanao Studies, peace work, and community research.

The press actively pushes science, technology, humanities, and arts forward. It grounds stories in local realities while joining bigger national and global conversations.

Empowering Mindanao Voices

Director Prof. Primitivo III Ragandang drives the vision hard. He wants Mindanao not merely as data sources but as creators of monographs and journals owned by local scholars. Furthermore, the team focuses first on building advisory boards and structured book series.

Mentorship programs now help young researchers turn theses into real books. Prof. Honeylet E. Dumoran adds that the press will release monographs, textbooks, journals, and creative works. This boosts MSU-IIT's top ranking in Mindanao and backs national innovation goals under President Marcos Jr.
